A WAY TO CARRY YOUR LOVED ONES WITH YOU
Updated: Apr 23, 2022

My dad chose to be cremated like many of our loved ones, and, like most people, I was given a portion of his ashes. That in itself can be an overwhelming experience. It was for me, and it was also a sacred one. In all honesty, I didn’t know what to do or how to connect with my dad in this form in the first year. I found it too painful to see them, so I kept his ashes in the plastic ziplock bag in the small clear container that the funeral home gave me and left it on a shelf in my closet and some of his clothes.

As I worked with my therapist and continued to make sense of all that had happened in the year after his death, I started to open to the idea of rituals around my father’s ashes. When I came across North Faun keepsake jewelry, my mother gifted me a ring with my dad’s ashes enclosed, and I can’t tell you the feeling I had when I received my ring right before my second Christmas without him. I have shared her pieces several times over the years, Morgan takes such good care in handling this delicate act.
Having a platform like mine comes with great responsibility to share things in alignment with my values, which may also be for you. I only work with brands, people, and companies that may positively impact people's lives, including my own. As my writing on grief and loss grows, brands and companies approach me with their offerings and products.

I recently joined this company because, like Eterneva, a company that specializes in memorial diamonds, Eterneva takes great pride and care when creating these special tokens of love and remembrance. I also know the importance of carrying our loved ones with us wherever we go. Surprisingly more companies are popping up with this in mind. The fact that we have so many options brings me a deep sense of groundedness that people are now turning towards their grief and honouring their loved ones in new ways.

Although I am not a diamond gal, I know many people are, and I love that Eterneva is creating sacred diamonds out of ashes. I have spent a lot of time watching and reading about people’s reactions to receiving their keepsake jewelry.
